Marine Corps Family Team Building
Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) provides educational resources and services to promote personal growth and enhance the readiness of Marines, Sailors, and their families. For additional information, please contact the MCFTB Director at 229-639-5767 or the MCFTB Trainer at 229-639-7935.
MCFTB includes the following:

Unit, Personal & Family Readiness Program (UPFRP)
The UPFRP is designed to help Marines and families achieve a constant state of personal and family readiness. While the UPFRP is the responsibility of the Commanding Officer (CO) of each unit, MCFTB trains and supports the Command Team, to include the Uniformed Readiness Coordinator (URC) and appointed volunteers:
- Command Team Training
- Uniformed Readiness Coordinator (URC) Training
- Family Readiness Command Team Advisor/Assistant Training
- PII/OPSEC Training
Readiness & Deployment Support Program (RDSP)
As part of the supporting establishment, MCLB Albany units do not deploy as a whole. Rather, individual service members may deploy as an Individual Augmentee (IA). In these instances, the RDSP works in conjunction with the unit's URC to offer briefs and workshops that empower and educate service members and their families during all stages of a deployment.
Deployment Readiness Workshops:
- Family Care Plans
- Return and Reunion
- Strong Marine Couples
The LifeSkills Training & Education Program facilitates a myriad of workshops that offer opportunities for personal and professional growth that cover a broad spectrum of life competencies in areas of communication, impact, relationships, and wellness.
A sample of LifeSkills classes are:
- Basic Anger Management
- Basic Stress Management
- Bridging the Generation Gap
- Say What?
- Real Relationships
- 4 Lenses Personality Assessment
Additional classes are available upon request. For more information, please contact the MCFTB Lifeskills Trainer at 229-639-7935.
The Lifestyles, Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.) is a volunteer driven, team-mentoring program designed to meet the needs of the Marine and their entire family: spouse, children, and extended family members. L.I.N.K.S. provides and introduction to the Marine Corps culture and Lifestyle, thereby increasing participants' ability to avoid problems, and allowing them to become more self-sufficient, as well as teaching participants the many military and community resources and benefits available to them. L.I.N.K.S. is most effective with a strong group of spouse volunteers who have a desire to guide and mentor their fellow military spouses and family members.
