The Base Library houses a collection of 6,000 children and adult books that are available for checkout. In addition, the following items are also available for checkout: digital audiobooks, DVDs, and Books-on-CDs. The library also provides newspapers and popular magazines. Laptops are available within the library.
Information and facts for research can be found using the library’s general reference section as well as the library’s research databases by accessing the Internet through Wi-Fi connection or using one of the library’s laptop computers. DSN and local faxes are allowed. A copier and printer are available for patron use.
Audiobooks: Contains fiction and nonfiction popular books. Some Professional Military Collection (PMC) titles are in audiobook and play-a-way (digital) formats. Some PMC or Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) titles are also in audiobook format.
Biography: Contains juvenile and adult books of high profile national and international people in the past and present.
Fiction: A collection of romance, mystery, western, science fiction, horror, and social novels.
Easy/Juvenile/Teen: A general collection of fiction, nonfiction and graphic novels for young readers. *Lexile friendly by 1 December 2021.
Nonfiction: A collection of literary works other than fiction. These are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification system; 000 – 900. All new and incoming material will be labeled under Semper Find It.
Professional Military Collection: A collection of books selected by the Commandant of the Marine Corps for the professional and educational development of the Marine.
Reference: A collection of literary tools for general research consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, guides, atlases, databases, etc.
Languages: A small collection of books, audiobooks and some computer software for the language learner.
Video: A collection of entertainment as well as educational DVDs and Blue Ray for all age groups. Video Games: A small collection of video games. We have the games for the following systems: Nintendo Switch, Wii, Wii U, X-Box 360, X-Box One, PS-4
Audio/Visual Equipment: 65" flat screen color TV, X-Box One, DVD/Blu-Ray player.
Other Equipment: Copier, Fax Machine, Laptop Computers for reference and word processing work. (Free copying and printing, faxing, Internet and Wi-Fi use. Free printing up to 20 pages).
Inter-library Loans: If not available locally, books may be borrowed up to 3 weeks from other CONUS Marine Corps Libraries.
Wi-Fi: Use your own laptop computer or check-out a laptop from the Base Library. (For in-house use only)
Online Homework Help: Children as well as the adult learner can get 24/7 online homework help or tutoring through Tutor.Com.
*** DoD expands eligibility during COVID-19 disruptions: As of April 2020, all DoD service members, civilian personnel, and all dependent family members (kindergarten-college/adult) are eligible to use Tutor.com/military at no cost.
Language: Mango Language Online is offered online through the Base Library. The learner must register for Mango at the Base Library.
World Book & Britannica Online Encyclopedias: Obtain a username and password to access these online encyclopedias at the Base Library.

Free Books Display: We offer a small selection of free paperback books in a wide range of genres.
Teen Room: Complete with video game station, gaming chairs, computers, board games and book nook.
Children’s Room: Educational computer, Legos, puzzles, blocks, board games, tinker toys, Q-B Maze, reading corner, learning activity binders for use in the library. Grab and go book bags for fast checkout and Story time bags for checkout.
Tales for Tots: Offered Wednesdays from 11 - 11:45AM, September to April.
LEGO Club: Come join the fun at the Library as children expand their young minds by building different 2D and 3D projects.
Summer Reading Program: During the summer months May - August, DoD-MWR Libraries around the world will host a range of free activities for children, teens, and adults that encourage and support a love of reading. Participants earn prizes by reaching their reading and activity goals.
Family Program Day: Held 4 times per year: October, December, February, April. Family Program Day offers an exciting and creative family theme for everyone to enjoy with one another via interactive activities. Additional details will be available on the MCCS monthly calendar and on the event flyer.
Maker Space: This is for the tween and teenager who is interested in S.T.E.M projects. See MCCS monthly calendar for dates/times or contact Library Staff for schedule.
